Adding your signature: type, draw, or upload

When you click a Signature field on a document, Inkless opens a signing tool with three ways to create your signature. This applies whether you're signing a document someone emailed you, filling out a public signing link, or completing a document set.

The three options

Pick whichever tab feels most natural:

  • Type — type your name and Inkless renders it in a cursive, handwritten-style font. Quick and works everywhere.
  • Draw — draw your signature by hand with your mouse, trackpad, or finger on a touchscreen. Made a mess? Click Clear and try again.
  • Upload — upload an image of your actual signature (PNG or JPEG, up to 2 MB). A preview appears once you pick a file.

Whichever method you choose, click Submit to place it on the document.

A few things to know

  • You only have to do this once per document. After you create your signature the first time, clicking any other signature field on the same document instantly reuses it — no need to draw or type it again.
  • Want to change it? Click an already-filled signature field to reopen the tool with your current signature loaded, and submit a new one.
  • If an uploaded image is over 2 MB, Inkless will ask you to choose a smaller file.
  • Your signature is legally binding once submitted — the confirmation step before you complete the document makes this explicit.
