More ways to work

Signing through a public link

If you've been sent a public signing link (rather than a document addressed to you personally), here's what to expect. You don't need an Inkless account.

1. Verify your email

  1. Open the link. You'll see the sender's name/logo and a short description of what you're about to sign.
  2. Enter your full legal name and email address, then click Email me a verification code.
  3. Check your inbox for a 6-digit code and enter it, then click Verify and open document.

Didn't get a code? Click Resend code (there's a short cooldown — usually 60 seconds — between resend attempts).

Once you're verified, you're taken into the normal signing experience — see How to sign a document you received for filling in fields and adding your signature.

Coming back later

If you return to the same link in the same browser after verifying, Inkless remembers you and offers a Continue button so you don't have to request a new code — as long as your session hasn't expired. On a different device or browser, or once your session expires, you'll need to verify again.

  • "This signing link has expired" — the sender set an expiration date that has passed. Contact them for a new link if you still need to sign.
  • "This signing link is no longer available" — the link may have been paused by the sender, or it may not exist. There's no way to tell the difference from this message alone, so if you believe this is a mistake, contact whoever shared the link with you.
